Here at The Indie Girl we don’t like waste, this means that almost all our jewellery is made to order. Please allow 4 weeks for manufacture and delivery. If your chosen jewel is over 7g in sterling silver or 1g in gold please allow an extra week for Hallmarking.

All orders are posted using Royal Mail and orders over £75 qualify for free shipping.

Jewellery under the value of £75 will be sent using Royal Mail Tracked 24 with
Signature.

Jewellery valued £75 and over will be sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Ring sizers will be sent Second Class Letter.

If you are not satisfied with your jewels, or change your mind, you’re welcome to
return within 14 days for a full refund – excluding delivery.

Please contact
theindiegirl@hotmail.com with your order number and instructions will be sent on how and where to return.

Jewellery should be unworn and returned in as received condition, in the original
packaging. If items appear worn or are in an unsaleable condition, they will not be
refunded and returned to you.

Unfortunately returns on earrings are not accepted for hygiene reasons unless
unworn and we are contacted as soon as order is received.
Royal mail tracked is the preferred method of shipping your return as we cannot be
held responsible if items go missing.

Once your return is received and inspected, a refund will be processed, you will be
notified, and your original payment method credited. This can take up to 10 days.
Gift Cards and Custom Orders are also non-refundable. Please let me know if there
are any issues with custom order as soon as received.

If you aren’t sure of your ring size there are ring sizers available here which cost £3 plus postage, or if you are local to Glasgow then you can pop into my studio to be sized. If you would like to do this

We would be delighted to make a custom design for you – simply fill in the enquiry form and we will be in touch! Initial discussions
can be done over email or via a video call or in person if you are local to Glasgow.

The Indie Girl jewellery is handmade to the highest standard, however, should your
jewellery need repairing please email theindiegirl@hotmail.com with details and pictures so we can discuss.

Unfortunately, we cannot repair other people’s work at present.

A care card is provided with every Indie Girl purchase. To care for your jewellery, we
recommend:

• Storing your jewellery in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Us a
  jewellery box or pouch with compartments to prevent your jewellery from
  touching each other as this can cause scratches or tarnishing.
• Remove your jewellery before showering, exercising or cleaning – make sure
  to put it on after any lotions or perfumes.
• Polish regularly using the polishing cloth provided with your order – this will
  keep it looking shiny.

All items (over certain weights) sold in the UK and described as being made from gold, silver, platinum or palladium must have a legally recognised hallmark. The law is set out in the Hallmarking Act 1973.

The purpose of hallmarking is to protect buyers of precious metal items against fraud. The hallmark is a mark which shows that the item has been independently tested and verified as matching its description and conforming to all legal standards
of purity or fineness of the metal.

All Indie Girl Jewellery that meets the criteria for hallmarking is sent to Edinburgh Assay Office.

Gold plating is the most common alternative to solid gold in the jewellery industry.

Plating can be done over almost any base metal, here at The Indie Girl we only plate over sterling silver and with a minimum thickness of 5 microns - this is also referred to as gold vermeil.

Plating can last a number of years with proper care - see our care section. We can also offer a replating service for a small fee to keep your jewellery looking amazing!
